Job description
To facilitate direction w.r.t. legal compliance, manage contractual agreements, and mitigate legal risks to safeguard the organizations interests and ensure adherence to regulatory standards. Additionally, to ensure strategic legal advice to support business operations and decision-making.Job Context & Major Challenges
Job Context :
Pali Cement Works: An Unit of UltraTech Cement Limited, a greenfield unit of the Aditya Birla Group is situated at Village.- Balara, Tehsil.- Jaitaran, District Beawar (Rajasthan). Pali Cement Works currently has 1 Line. Line-1 was commissioned in Dec 22 with an installed capacity of 2.2 million tons (2.2 MTPA) and 3.3 million tons (3.3 MTPA) cement annually. Pali Cement Works Unit has a Waste Heat Recovery System power plant which generates 16 MW power from waste gases of existing cement plant. The plant also has an environmental cell which monitors air and water quality, audits, and conducts marine ecological studies and environmental studies of mines and nearby villages. Pali has always maintained high level of operational performance and stands tall, as a symbol of Sustainable Industrial Development . Today, Pali Cement Works is acknowledged as one of the most efficient, vibrant, productive, profitable, technologically updated and state-of-the-art unit of Birla Group s UltraTech Cement Business.

Major Challenges :
To solve critical court cases against & by the company To reduce number of Court cases & quicker settlement of land disputes.
Management of all the stakeholders with proper consensus especially when interests conflict.Key Result Areas KRA (Accountabilities) (Max 1325 Characters) Supporting Actions (Max 1325 Characters) KRA1 KEY SYSTEMS & PROCESS

Review of all Improvement / Institutionalisation key systems and process improvements To motivate team members for participation in various WCM activities such as 5S,BCE, Hygiene etc and submission of Kaizen & suggestions in system
Ensure implementation of IMS policy in department
Ensure participation in People Mgmt KFA and HRD GRT as per the ABOE framework
Identify Digitalization opportunities and take initiatives for ER process automation
Ensure GHR, BHR and other best Admin Practices are gets implemented KRA2 SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT
Analyze all Safety, Health and Environment guidelines are implemented in Adminstration department Ensure 100% implementation of all applicable safety standards in Administration department with target of zero harm
Effective participation & contribution in various safety subcommittees, SO, CFSA, daily walkthrough round, visible felt leadership and apex safety meeting for building and inculcating strong safety culture
Promote sustainable solution for HSE initiatives
Ensure timely closure of open audit points / observatios (FPSA,SPSA,TPSA) KRA3 Legal Advisory and Training Provide strategic legal advice and training to internal stakeholders.
Interact with user departments to address legal issues and risks.
Conduct legal training sessions to enhance legal awareness.
Maintain a digital legal database for easy access to case details and documentation. KRA4 Trademark and Intellectual Property Protection Ensure trademarks and copyrights are protected to mitigate risks.
Establish a dedicated team for trademarks and copyrights.
Oversee trademark agreements and branding protection strategies.
Coordinate patent filings and manage intellectual property portfolio KRA5 Corporate Governance and Legal Support Provide legal guidance to support corporate governance and operational decisions.
Establish systems for legal review of proposals, contracts, and agreements.
Develop legal frameworks for M&As, partnerships, and subsidiaries.
Monitor legal implications of business development initiatives. KRA6 Dispute Resolution and Litigation Management: Manage efficiently legal disputes and litigation processes
Develop conciliation and arbitration mechanisms for dispute resolution.
Manage out-of-court settlements and liaise with external legal counsels.
Monitor litigation progress and provide timely feedback to management KRA7 Legal Compliance and Risk Management Ensure the organization complies with evolving legal and statutory regulations
Develop and implement a robust compliance system for legal requirements.
Review and update processes to ensure adherence to statutory norms.
Conduct regular audits and prepare compliance checklists. KRA8 Handling of cases relates with Land/Criminal/Civil/Revenue: Coordinate & facilitate in acquiring additional land required for Units operations to meet business and to arrange for declaration award for land
Coordinate & facilitate in all types of cases against and by the company
Preparing necessary documentation to present before various Courts and to attend hearings.
Arrange and preparation of concerns for Court evidence
