Manager - Legal (Litigation), 8 to 13 years in Mumbai

Job Description

• To prepare assigned cases by collecting and studying basic documents records and evidences
• To attend hearings in courts, assist in examination and cross-examination of witnesses
• To play a major role by giving inputs for selecting advocate/ solicitor and coordinate for the same, briefing the case to them and seeking their opinions on it
• To lease with local officials, BMC, courts and tribunals such as Official Liquidator, Court Receiver, etc.
• To keep track of cases/ proceeding/ suits and keep pleadings status updated from time to time
• To draft case papers, petitions, affidavits, application/ reply to all the legal notices like written statements, submission, evidences, agreement, MOU etc.
• To update self on changes in laws regularly and review how these changes will affect the organization, and highlight any important implication to the management
• To keep concerned departments informed of legal status in respect to related activities/ cases
• To engage with, and guide the team members
